About Us

In 2020, a group of young Christians in the city came together to dream of the possibility of having a multi-church gathering for the younger generation in London. Many young people were experiencing a difficult time of isolation and discouragement, and the group wanted to create a gathering where they could feel safe and encouraged to persevere and fight in the Lord. This project was led by John and named ‘Cocoon’ to reflect its significance in the transformation process akin to metamorphosis. Unfortunately, this project never received the proper spotlight due to the pandemic lockdown.

After COVID-19, John started a new ministry called Faith L.A.B.S. to unite churches and Christian ministries in creatively addressing various city issues under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Many pastors and ministry leaders expressed an urgent need to care for the young generation in the city, who still felt isolated, discouraged, and disconnected from Christian communities. John reached out to young pastors and Christian leaders to form a pilot project team. The team planned and hosted events to gather young people from diverse backgrounds and churches, aiming to both encourage and challenge their faith. The vision was not just to gather them, but also to awaken them to respond to the Lord’s call for renewal among the youth in the city, hence the project was named Wake Up My Soul (WUMS). The acronym WUMS, resembling ‘WORMS,’ connected their hearts back to ‘Cocoon.’

John successfully rallied various churches, ministries, and organizations around this vision, culminating in the first WUMS conference in December 2023 at Royal View Church. Young adults and youth were invited to join for worship, fellowship, and seminars to strengthen and challenge their faith.

Now, we invite you to join our second WUMS conference on Saturday, November 2, 2024, featuring chaplains and students from Asbury University.
